Safe
Gun safes for storing hunting rifles and pistols at home in line with Lithuanian firearm storage rules. The category holds Brihard Hunter cabinets for three or five long guns and compact Brihard and Griffon pistol safes for everyday secure storage.
After a hunt, your rifle does not go back into a corner or a wardrobe. In Lithuania, firearms must be kept in a safe or a metal cabinet, so a gun safe is the first purchase a hunter makes, often before collecting the firearm permit itself. This category offers Brihard and Griffon safes for long guns and pistols.
Why a hunter needs a gun safe
A gun safe protects your rifle from thieves, children and curious hands, and it lets you meet the legal storage requirements for firearms. The police check that you have a suitable metal cabinet at home before a permit is granted, so keeping a hunting rifle without a safe is not an option. A closed safe also keeps dust and knocks away from the gun while it waits between seasons.
What safes this category holds
The range covers two product types: tall Brihard Hunter cabinets for long hunting guns and compact safes for pistols. Four models cover the most common needs, from a single scoped rifle to a handgun kept for self-defence or sport shooting. Every safe locks and is made to be bolted to the building structure.
Brihard Hunter 3 gun safe
A cabinet for three long guns. It suits a hunter who owns a rifle and a shotgun and wants spare room for one more firearm later.
Brihard Hunter 5 gun safe
A larger cabinet for five long guns. Hunters who keep several shotguns and rifles for different hunting methods choose it, as do households where two people hunt.
Brihard pistol K safe
A compact safe for a pistol. It takes little space, so you can mount it inside a wardrobe or on a wall where you can reach it easily.
Griffon S25 Pistol K safe
A small Griffon safe for a handgun. It is an alternative to the Brihard model if you prefer another maker or different dimensions.
How to choose a gun safe
First count how many long guns and handguns you will store, then check that the safe meets the firearm storage requirements that apply in Lithuania, and only then compare prices. A safe that is too small becomes a problem right after your second rifle, so pick the larger option from the start.
- Capacity: the number of long guns and pistols you own now and expect to own in a few years.
- Compliance: the safe has to meet legal storage requirements, including minimum wall thickness.
- Internal height: a rifle with a mounted scope needs more room than a plain shotgun.
- Anchoring: check that the body has holes for bolting the safe to a wall or floor.
- Lock: pick a locking method you find convenient and keep the keys where other household members cannot reach them.
Where to place and mount the safe
Bolt the safe to a wall or floor in a dry room that guests and passers-by cannot see into. A damp cellar or an unheated garage harms the gun, so a living space is the better choice. An anchored safe resists being carried off, and you keep quick access when you gear up for an early morning hunt.
What to do before the gun goes into the safe
After a hunt in a wet forest or long hours in a high seat in fog, clean the rifle and wipe it dry first. Moisture trapped in a closed safe attacks the barrel and metal parts fast, so keep your cleaning kit and oil next to the safe rather than in the garage.
